Head over to Sugar Freak for some Louisiana cajun/creole inspired comfort food! This restaurant is located in Astoria, Queens and not only offers delicious food but also unique interior decor. Sugar Freak’s menu has many good options to choose from and has become a local favorite for us as we saw ourselves going back to try more dinner & brunch items.
We would suggest getting a couple appetizers, starting with Oysters Rockefeller which features bacon, onions, creamed spinach, and Parmesan cheese. Other options include their Charbroiled oysters as well as their Hush puppies that contain chili honey with sweet and spicy condensed milk sauce.
Beignet Sliders featuring bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheese! (excellent combo)
For entrees, we’ve had the Jambalaya, Sugar Freak Mac & Cheese, Shrimp Po’Boys, and last but not least the unique Chicken and Waffles with options of “Chicken Fried Chicken” toppings. All of which were absolutely flavorful and delicious.
Must Get: Waffle Fried Waffles with Fried Chicken, Oysters Rochefeller, Fried Banana Pudding with Ice cream.
